Aim
The major goal of this course is for learners to build the core skills of a data engineer: writing production quality Python, working with relational and non relational databases, using SQL confidently, managing code with Git, and packaging work with Docker, so they can build and deliver a first working data pipeline.

Course Learning Objectives
- Basic process and lifecycle of data engineering, and how it differs from data analysis and data science
- Introduction to Python for data engineering, including file handling, APIs, and reusable scripts
- An applied understanding of relational databases, SQL, and NoSQL/caching stores
- How to version control and collaborate on data engineering projects using Git and GitHub
- How to containerize a data pipeline for reproducible, portable execution
- How to design, build, and document a first end to end data pipeline
