Why Africa, Why Now?

Africa is experiencing remarkable momentum in artificial intelligence, driven by rapid user adoption and strong strategic commitment across the continent. Kenya currently leads globally in AI adoption, with user growth also surging across Egypt, Nigeria and South Africa. At the enterprise level, over 40% of African companies are actively experimenting with or implementing AI solutions. This rapid integration underscores immense economic potential, as Africa’s AI market is projected to reach $16.53 billion by 2030 and generate up to 230 million digital jobs in Sub-Saharan Africa. Anchoring this growth, nations across the continent, including Rwanda, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, and Zimbabwe, are taking decisive, sovereign action by rapidly developing and executing national AI strategies.
