
The Remote Pilot License (RPL) course is designed for aspiring drone professionals who wish to operate remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) for commercial purposes. This course equips students with the skills and certification needed to meet KCAA standards and work legally and safely in various industries in the region
- Theoretical modules: Airspace rules, radio procedures, weather, human factors, flight planning.
- Practical flight training: Basic to advanced maneuvers, emergency procedures.
- Examinations: Written and practical tests to demonstrate proficiency.
- Certification: Issuance of an Remote Pilot License upon successful completion, approved by KCAA.
- Teach aviation theory related to drone operations (air law, meteorology, navigation, etc.)
- Develop practical flight skills through hands-on training and simulations.
- Prepare students for certification and assessments required by aviation authorities.
- Promote safety, responsibility, and situational awareness in drone operations.
This Course is Ideal for:

- KCAA recognises applications for licensing from foreigners as well, so long as they have a valid passport and proof that they are fluent in the English language.
- Copy of National ID or Passport
- Class 3 Medical Certificate (Approx. KES 10,000; issued by certified aviation doctors)
- Any Academic Certification ( Degree, Diploma, KCSE etc) (to confirm English literacy)
7 Weeks
4 Weeks Theory: Covers 6 core units + Theory Examinations
3 Week Practical: Supervised flying sessions with a minimum of 5 flight hours
Skills Test & Certification: Final evaluation by a KCAA-approved examiner followed by RPL processing
