@iBizAfrica – Strathmore University, in partnership with Standard Chartered Bank launched Cohort 7 of its Women in Tech Program, under their joint initiative, the Women in Tech Incubator program. With sustainability as its central theme, the program aims to empower female entrepreneurs leveraging technology to pivot their businesses towards environmentally and socially responsible practices.
Amidst the vibrant atmosphere of the @iBizAfrica Incubation Centre at Strathmore University, June 3rd and 4th marked a pivotal moment as over 80 determined female entrepreneurs converged for the #SCWomenInTech Bootcamp. Here, they eagerly soaked up essential skills vital for navigating the complexities of today’s business landscape..
Day 1 kicked off with discussions on the key aspect of Customer Discovery and Validation, led by Robert Yawe from Synaptech Solutions. Participants engaged in practical exercises to pinpoint their target audience, conduct meaningful interviews, and refine their business concepts to better meet customer needs. On Day 2, the entrepreneurs arrived at the iBiz place, eager for the next sessions and to glean insights from the speaker. Under the expert guidance of Kimathi Ikiao from Plutus Capital, the ladies got the opportunity to glean insights on craft compelling pitches, mastering the art of clarity and persuasion to captivate potential investors and stakeholders.
Beyond the acquisition of skills, the bootcamp served as a platform for support among women in tech. Bonds were forged, experiences shared, and a sense of community flourished, setting the stage for future collaboration and growth.With newfound confidence and sharpened skills, participants departed the bootcamp ready to embark on their entrepreneurial journeys with renewed vigor. The #SCWomenInTech Bootcamp stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation in driving meaningful change in the tech industry.
As the curtain falls on this chapter, anticipation builds for the next phase, where the top 15 participants will receive additional support and mentoring to further fuel their entrepreneurial ambitions.
