@iLabAfrica-Strathmore University recently graduated its first cohort of The Artificial Intelligence Capacity Building Program. The program, in collaboration with GIZ Kenya, was aimed at enhancing Artificial Intelligence expertise in Kenya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants underwent extensive training on various aspects of Artificial Intelligence since April 2023. The training encompassed various fields such as FinTech, Justice, Agriculture, Energy, and the Ethical Use of AI.A representative from the German Embassy in Kenya pointed out the vitality of the training program citing, \u201cWorking towards a more open, inclusive, & sustainable approach to AI on a global scale, we aim to enhance the conditions for local AI development in its partner countries: Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, and  Uganda.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AI plays a pivotal role in driving innovation, efficiency, and problem-solving across Kenya’s sectors. From precision farming in agriculture to predictive analytics in healthcare, AI-powered solutions optimize processes and deliver significant advancements. In finance, AI technologies promote financial inclusion, while in transportation, they streamline logistics and reduce congestion. These applications highlight AI’s transformative impact in addressing challenges and fostering sustainable development throughout Kenya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Nusu Mwamanzi, Director at the Ministry of ICT Kenya and Digital Economy, <\/strong>takes these words with conviction. Speaking during the graduation of the trainees at the aforementioned Artificial Intelligence Capacity Building Program, Mr. Mwamazi stated, \u201cAI drives innovation, enhances efficiency, and solves challenges in Kenya’s sectors.\u201d He also added, \u201cOur collaboration with the private sector to deploy digital infrastructures like Public WiFi and fiber optics and provide Kenyans with digital skills, is a positive start in enhancing the Artificial Intelligence ecosystem in Kenya.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
